Rwanda’s first wheelchair basketball match

Only a few months after his first time after the accident to be able to return to the court as a spectator, Mechack is now back BALLING and we couldn’t be any prouder! Yesterday (Friday, September 21) he was leading his team to a win in Rwanda’s ever first wheelchair basketball match.

Our co-founder worked hard during the last couple of months, attending trainings and formations by our partner NPC , to bring wheelchair basketball on the country’s agenda. The sport is still unknown in Rwanda and also NPC only launched it this year. This Friday’s friendly match taking place in Kigali was the first one of its kind in the capital and it was amazing to see Mechack as a former basketball player of the national league back in his element.

Wheelchair basketball is now tipped to grow at fast pace in Rwanda as The New Times titled. 4BF Inzu is a leading organization in its promotion and execution in partnership with NPC and hope on you to become our fans!
